Murder-Mystery – Suspense at Styles Villa

Mystery story

Mystery story

One rainy morning… The mist hung over the Styles villa. The area, which was usually very peaceful, seemed strange that day.

John Steven, an American businessman, lived with his family in the Stiles Villa. His wife Miranda, son Robert, and his sister Elizabeth also lived in the same house. John’s father had died a few months earlier. Since then, the family has been struggling with the remaining assets.

That morning, the maid Agnes, making coffee as usual, went into Miranda’s room. But…

“Madam… Madam!” – Everyone in the house was shocked at her scream.

Miranda was lying on her side, seemingly out of breath.

Suspicions began at the corpse.

John immediately called Dr. Brown. He examined him closely and said:

“This isn’t a heart attack. It’s like he was poisoned by something.”

Everyone in the house was shocked when they saw each other. They began to suspect that someone had committed murder. But who?

New guy – Introducing a detective

John called in a private detective through a friend he knew – none other than David Roy ,
a famous man who had worked for the New York Police Department.

“Everyone in the house needs to be checked separately,” said David.

He first checked all the belongings in Miranda’s room. He put the remaining liquid in the water glass next to her, the diary in the room, and all the handwriting in his bag.

Mystery story

Detective David Roy was not a man who smiled easily by nature, but his gaze was one that caught every little word, every little emotion.

The room where Miranda died is now sealed. Everyone in the house is saying the same thing – “We didn’t see anything.” But David silently begins to make a list.

Profile of the people in the house – details observed by David:

  • John Steven (husband): He loves his wife, but there have been rumors of differences between them for several years. There have been reports of minor disputes over property matters.

  • Robert (son): He was sentimentally attached to his mother. But the maid said that he had been making phone calls secretly for some time.

  • Elizabeth (sister): Miranda doesn’t like her. There’s a cold war going on between the two. Once, a line appeared in the diary in the room that said “She deserves it” – is it Elizabeth’s handwriting?

  • Agnes (maid): A very loyal person, but she sees many things but passes them by slowly, without putting them into words.

First trial – suspicion on Elizabeth

David questioned Elizabeth first.

“Why did you fight with Miranda?”
“Yes… but that was a small problem… she hurt me, that’s why I got angry.”

David asked, “Who wrote ‘She deserves it’ in your diary?”

Elizabeth’s face fell silent.

“Once I wrote in anger… but I didn’t commit murder!”

Second trial

David called Robert into the room. Robert, who was pretending to read a magazine, fidgeted a little.

“Give me your mobile,” said David.

When checking the calls, one number was saved for four days in a row – “Amelia G.” Who is she?

New evidence found at home

David Miranda rummaged through the room, sending the liquid in the water glass for testing. He found an insurance policy that had expired a week earlier. Coverage amount – $2 million!

“Maybe this is an old document, but I have a feeling someone might want to use it now,” said David.

Miranda’s last diary entry

David read Elizabeth’s diary as well as Miranda’s diary. On the last page there:

“Someone is watching me at night. I hear noises. I fear it’s not just my mind.”

Detective David wrote in his notes:

  • 2–3 people who are angry with Miranda

  • Agnes is hiding something.

  • Robert needs special attention.

  • Poison must be found near someone in the house.

Styles Villa – From the outside, it looks like a large bungalow with historic charm. But Detective David is uncovering the many secrets hidden within its walls.

The first thing he noticed was a small room next to Miranda’s room. It was supposed to be a safe house. But it was empty now. But in one corner David saw a small passageway – if he moved the table aside… he saw a secret door!

Spy Room – Who Used It?

David opened the door and went inside, shining a flashlight. In the small room:

  • Chair

  • A notebook

  • Old phone

  • Miranda’s photo

Suddenly he noticed – some names on the notebook page:

  • John – $2M Policy

  • Robert – Unstable

  • Agnes – Loyal but scared

  • Elizabeth – Hates Miranda

So this is an analysis someone secretly wrote about Miranda! But what letters were underlined – John and Agnes

Agnes confronts

David immediately confronted Agnes.

“Did you come to this room for some reason?”

She suddenly became agitated,

“Sir… I have to tell you the truth. For the past few days, Madam Miranda has been feeling tense at night. They said someone was threatening her. Miranda asked me to call them. But they told me to record them from inside the room, not to come near them.”

“Who are they?” said David.

“I didn’t understand either. But one night, John sir went into that secret room. From then on, Miranda stopped touching food…”

Miranda’s phone data – Robert’s plan?

Miranda recovered her phone and checked the data, but found a shocking message:

From: R
“Once she’s gone, we’re free. Don’t back out now.”

David:

“R stands for Robert?”

But Robert was immediately called aside for overacting. Robert immediately admitted:

“She used to control me a lot. But I didn’t kill her. I wrote that message to my girlfriend, Amelia. She said – don’t wait until your mother forgets about the property you have in your name.”

“She didn’t say poison to finish the job. She said she was just living for money.”

David notes:

  • Strong suspicion now over John

  • Maybe Agnes still knows something.

  • Robert did wrong but didn’t kill.

  • John should be challenged hard at the end.

Even though the sun has risen in the Styles villa… the light in the house is still in rebellion. Suspicion lurks behind every word, fear lurks behind every look.

Detective David Roy – now solidly convinced of the real killer – is ready to confront John Stevens , Miranda’s husband.

Official questions on John

David sat John down in the next room and began asking questions:

“Miranda lived in fear at night. As far as you know… who in your family threatened her?”

John quietly drank his coffee… “That’s a figment of her imagination,” he said.

“What else do you see in that secret room at night?”

Here John seemed a little taken aback. His words seemed to falter.

“Miranda has removed some pages from her diary. Did you see that?”

John: “I never paid attention to her diary.”

“See, this is the last line she wrote – ‘If anything happens to me, look into the insurance papers and John’s lawyer.’”

John fell silent.

Secret Romance – Big Twist

At the same time, David received a message from a private tech lab in New York. The data from testing the liquid in Miranda’s glass:

Result: Digitally traceable poison – ordered under John’s company account

David could now say for sure – John planned it. But what was the motive?

That’s where the clue took another turn.

When confronted by John, David asked:

“You made secret beneficiary changes with your lawyer – after your wife dies, that insurance money should be deposited to your accountant & love interest…”

John suddenly stood up angrily. “You can’t prove anything.”

“I just did.” – said David.

There he showed a document – beneficiary name: Amelia Grace

“I’m not Robert’s girlfriend. I’m your partner!”

Now John’s breath seemed to stop inside his lungs.

The final blow – he confessed.

“Yes. Miranda has lost trust in me. She wants to give the assets to her family. If she were alive, I would be ruined.”

“So you poisoned it.”

“The night she forgot, I put a few drops in the water… and it worked instantly.”

David immediately called the police.

The atmosphere at Stiles’ villa had completely changed since John Stevens’ arrest. While the breezes in the nearby rose garden were gently blowing, it seemed as if some souls in the house had not yet fallen asleep peacefully.

CID David’s decision

Detective David Roy has provided the police with a detailed report containing all the evidence. Amelia Grace will also be investigated, as she has also been found to be an indirect beneficiary.

After it was all over, Robert told the detective:

“To tell you the truth, sir… Even her mother looked down on me. But… I loved her. Now I have lost her, and the one who destroyed me too.”

David nodded sagely. “The truth always comes out, Robert. But the wrong decisions we make define our humanity.”

Miranda’s last letter

A final letter was found among the books in Miranda’s room. The personal letter she wrote contained these words:

“It feels like someone is out to get me. But I want to live for the sake of my son’s future. If there is any humanity left in this world… I hope someone will save me. If anything happens to me… remember my love.”

Robert couldn’t hold back his tears after reading the letter.

Elizabeth & Agnes – New Life

Elizabeth, remembering her past hatred for her mother, bowed her head.
David especially complimented Agnes — her words gave the detective some key clues.

Detective Roy – The End of a Case

While packing, David wrote on a piece of paper:

  • “Murder Mystery” is all it sounds like on the pages, but human actions without a sense of humanity can tear apart many families.

  • It’s not easy to expose the truth, but the truth survives only in the hope that there will be people who speak the truth.

Then, as he was driving away, he looked back at Stiles’ villa.

“A mysterious murder in a villa… A father, a husband, a villain disguised as a man… I will never forget this.”
